Ps this sounds familiar. I think I read somewhere about an amazing percentage of dementia patients in care homes in the UK being diagnosed with some sort of psychiatric illness so they could be prescribed certain calming medication.
In the US, the rates of "schizophrenia" diagnosis in elderly nursing homes increased so that it could be "properly" prescribed and covered by Medicare.
